Ding Junhui recorded his second career maximum 147 break in the third frame of his UK Championship second-round match against John Higgins.
China’s Ding, the 2005 champion, was trailing former world champion Higgins 2-0 in Telford but hit back in style. Ding is now in pole position to claim the £5,000 prize for the highest break and £25,000 bonus for the maximum, although that money would be split if another player recorded a 147.
